As an example, we will look at the Year 7-9 judging windows for Improving Secondary Writing. You can choose which assessments you want to enter, and you can choose which teachers you want to judge. These choices will determine how long the judging process will take. Below we have put some worked examples of the time it will take to judge. You can adjust the numbers in red to see how long it will take in your school.

School A - large school, 300 students per year group, 25 teachers available to judge, entering Years 7, 8 & 9.

So each teacher will need to judge for 2 hours. They have a three week window in which to complete these judgements

School B - medium sized, 150 students per year group, 10 teachers available to judge, entering Years 7 & 8

So each teacher will need to judge for 1hr 40m. They have a three week window in which to complete these judgements
