We’re very excited to be able to partner with communities to allow them to host watch parties for live content! Playback (Beta) does not yet have monetization features available within the product, but we want to make sure communities are paid for their time and energy while we’re in beta. As a result, we’ve set up the following criteria so communities can get paid for hosting watch parties. Please note that these figures are subject to change based on our budget. We will notify you in advance in our Discord if any changes will be taking place for future months.
This compensation plan goes into effect January 1, 2023*****
Community watch parties that meet all of the following criteria will be paid $2.50 per watcher**
If you host multiple watch parties in the same day, we will aggregate unique watchers over the course of the day.
*The maximum users that can enter a room is currently capped at 400. Hence, the most a community can earn in a day is currently $1,000.
**A “watcher” is a user that has signed up for a Playback account and viewed a hosted stream in your room for 5+ minutes
Hosting with frequency is the best way to consistently grow your Playback room, so we want to reward you for doing so by giving out a monthly bonus! Try reaching out to friends, colleagues, and community members to host in the room when you can’t make it!
If you host for 5+ days with 10+ watchers per day your room will earn an additional $250
If you host for 10+ days with 10+ watchers per day your room will earn another $250 ($500 total)
Preferred partners are not eligible for the Frequency Bonus
