In this tutorial, we will show you how to make a transaction using starname and the Cosmostation wallet. If you are a bit lost about starname, let me tell you a couple of things about it:
<aside>
💫 *Starname is a decentralized personalized username. To give you an idea, think it as an email address to receive payments easily.
With starname you can receive any crypto-asset on any chain using wallet partners like Cosmostation or Ledger. No more use for long lists of crypto-addresses: your starname can have multiple addresses linked to it. This is useful for freelancers and business that get paid in crypto as well as for NGO and non-profit to receive donations.
In the example below, Brian will receive a transaction to his KAVA address. I don't know his KAVA address and I don't need to know it: I just need to know his starname and this is all the info I need from him.*

This is my Cosmostation wallet's screen and to start a transaction I need to tap on "Send" (bottom right).
This is the next screen you will see:
Notice that there are a small logo and a message saying that starname service is supported. This means that if the starname of my receiver has been linked to my receiver's crypto-address, I will be able to use the receiver's starname in this transaction. In other words, I want to send some KAVA to Brian, whose starname is *brian. So if Brian has linked his starname *brian to his KAVA address, I can send him KAVA using his starname.
Let's get to it!
When I type *brian in the input and tap on next, you will see a popup that will match the starname to one address.
Continue.
This is the time you have to type the amount you would like to send.
After that, click on next.
