Early voting time frames

- Since rules can change from state to state, check your state or local election office website. Check under “absentee voting” if you don’t see information under “voting in person” or “early voting.”
Voter Suppression
- If you are in line to vote in person, please do not allow your vote to be suppressed and stay in line. They should offer you a provisional ballot if the machines are not working. If you cast a provisional ballot:
- Ask for written instructions about what you must do to ensure the provisional ballot will be counted.
- Ask for a phone number you can call to confirm if your vote was counted.
- IMPORTANT: In 27 states, if you cast a provisional ballot at the wrong polling location, your vote will not be counted.
