📂 Work on Climate channel classes

Work on Climate (WoCl)’s Slack channels are organized into different classes to help you tell, at a glance, the kind of conversations you can expect there! Each class is associated with a prefix in the channel name.

Class Description
#topic- “Topic” channels are just what they sound like - they broadly discuss the topic in the channel name!
#role- “Role” channels are meant for people of a particular role. For example, #role-founders is a place for founders of climate start-ups to convene, discuss, and help one another!
#learn- “Learn” channels are the home base of learning groups. Anyone can start a learning group; just let our https://workonclimate.slack.com/team/U06CKUNMXDXr know so we can help you get up and running!
#meet- “Meet” channels allow members of a specific location to share local events, plan meet-ups, and discuss local news!
#geo- “Geo” channels centralize conversations focusing on climate work in a specific geographic location. These channels are generally broader than the “#meet-” channels, as they are meant for far-reaching discussions!
#jobs- “Jobs” channels share out job alerts from various climate job boards for different sectors as well as offer a chance for users to share job postings from their own organizations.

🎨 How to format your posts

Use concise and helpful formatting. People are more likely to act on your message if it's concise and well-formatted.

Some channels even have workflows to help you produce a message that help you adhere to these best practices!

⚠️ How to report a concern

Members should feel empowered to participate in community accountability at Work on Climate!

You can do this by tying in posts to climate work if the original author didn’t make a clear connection between what they shared and working on climate, or you can alert the moderators to the post in question.

If you have other concerns or feedback, you’re welcome to use the #community-feedback channel.
