Members in a community earn Threado Tokens for the actions they perform in a community. In the first phase, this is visible only to the Community Admins on Threado’s Member CRM dashboard.

Initially, we were calculating the Threado tokens just by counting the number of new posts, replies or reactions made by a member. However after serving many communities over last several months we have understood there is more nuance to this process. Thats why we have updated the way we calculate the tokens. Here is an explanation of the process.

We have introduced the concepts of - actions, usefulness and weights which makes Threado tokens more powerful and helps the community to customise the process based on their needs.

Actions - Every community broadly has 3 kinds of actions

Not every action is equal. If you look closely, you will find 3 distinct actions:

Categorising the activities in 3 different kinds helps community managers assign different levels of importance to each action.

Usefulness - How do we know how useful is a post or reply?

Not every post is equally useful for the community. The usefulness of any post can be determined by the number of replies or reactions a member received on that post.

Type of activity Action Usefulness
Engage Posts new messages No of replies on the post, No of reactions on the post
Help Replies to a message No of reactions on the reply
Encourage Reacts to a message

We divide the number of reactions or replies by 100 and add that number to 1 to compute your usefulness multiplier.

So if your post has received 20 reactions your usefulness multiplier would be: 1 + 20/100 = 1.2

which means that the effectiveness of your post has increased by 1.2 times.

Let’s take another case where there are no reactions to your post. So your usefulness multiplier would be: 1 + 0/100 = 1
