At TheACE, our mission is simple: to spotlight, celebrate and document Africa’s comic books, animation and creative industries with accuracy, respect and cultural integrity. As part of our workflow, we use artificial intelligence tools to support research, drafting and analysis — but never to replace or imitate the creative labour of the artists and studios we work with.

Here’s what partners and creators need to know:

1. Your creativity is protected. Always.

We do not use AI to mimic, copy or generate artwork in the style of any identifiable African artist, studio or brand without explicit permission. Your style is your identity and TheACE treats it with the respect it deserves.

2. AI does not replace artists, writers or animators.

Our visual and editorial work remains human-led. AI may support internal tasks (like research summaries or concept placeholders), but it does not produce final creative assets meant to stand in for real creator work.

3. All stories remain human-shaped.

Even when AI helps with early drafts or data insights, our editors refine, verify and approve every line. The final narrative always reflects human judgement, cultural understanding and journalistic integrity.

4. We always disclose AI involvement when it matters.

If AI meaningfully contributes to a piece, we state it clearly. Partners and creators will always know when AI tools play a role in research or production.

5. Your data and materials are handled with care.

We do not feed sensitive scripts, pitches, unreleased art, private communications or partner materials into AI tools. All creator files, art, documents, interviews, audio, are protected under strict confidentiality standards.

6. AI helps us do our work better, not differently.

Used responsibly, AI assists us with:

This allows TheACE to produce richer analysis and tell your stories with greater depth.
