Gear I Use (as a Sony user)

Flash options (100 W +)

• Godox V100S – lightweight, perfect combination of power from a speedlight.

Essentials

• Godox X3-S trigger – fires the flash off-camera
• CTO gels (½ or full strength) – warms up the light for that sunset feel - I will usually use the full strength CTO. (Either Godox magnetic or MagMod gels work great).
• Light stand – at least 2 m tall so you can line up with the horizon

Placement Tips

• Think about where the sun actually is — or where it would be if hidden behind clouds.
• Keep the flash in line with (or slightly above) the horizon.
• Hide it behind a tree, building, or your subjects for believability.
• Increase distance for softer, scene-filling light.
