Overview

This session demonstrates how AI-powered, scenario-based learning can be used to build faculty and staff confidence in supporting student retention, early intervention, and holistic student success. Participants will experience an AI-generated storybook centered on a student navigating academic difficulty in an online learning environment. Through guided reflection and collaborative design, participants will analyze institutional response gaps and create a contrasting success narrative that integrates campus support resources.

The session models how immersive storytelling and AI tools can shift conversations from reactive support to proactive, coordinated intervention.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this session, you will be able to:

  1. Identify key university support resources available to college students (e.g., advising, tutoring, counseling, early alerts, instructor outreach).
  2. Design an original AI-generated storybook that integrates 3–4 university support resources into a cohesive narrative focused on early intervention and student success.
