As someone as obsessed with home screens as I am, it was surreal to get the request from a MWW listener to use the photos I was casually sharing on my story as their iPhone background.

To turn this around right away I shared the specific photos requested on Twitter, even though I suspected Twitter would compress the photos.

Much to my delight, within a day my photos had already made its way as an iPhone home screen. As someone who spends as much time thinking about my home screen (here, here & here), I know what an incredibly intimate real estate this is and it was honestly one of my most unexpected milestones for me to cross.

I know I like writing and posting on social and all the rest of it, but I've never ever ever thought of myself as a photographer. Within a short little while though, the request I was inevitably waiting for came: to submit the photos in higher resolution.

I said on MWW 29 that finding all the backgrounds would be linked from this page, so here it is. I am a huge fan of using existing products to solve problems. What's the best way to share high quality photos? Unsplash, obviously.

As a huge fan of Unsplash and an absolute power user of finding images there, I genuinely never considered my photos good enough for the platform (#impostersyndromeisreal). But as this is the platform that makes the most sense, here we are.

However, as the two photos specifically requested don't meet the Unsplash quality standards, I'll need to include them here. One of them is taken through a car window that can clearly be seen, and the other one is cropped. I'll include them here, but they're probably not the best option for a home screen background.

I did add some more photos to Unsplash to give options, with the additional benefit of having captions and location tags. They're not all from Iceland, which I know what people's mind immediately jumps to when they see my blue and snowy photos.

<aside> ✨ Here they are – free for you to use as you wish. If you do end up using them for your home screen, or anything else for that matter, pls send a tweet to me or the MWW accounts! It'll absolutely make me smile.
