Hindsight is a lightweight Chrome extension that lets you search your browsing history by page content — not just titles or URLs. It runs entirely on your device with instant, blazingly fast search. Your data is never sent to any server, AI service, or third party. Everything stays local in your browser.

This privacy policy explains what data Hindsight collects, how it is stored, and your rights.

The Short Version

All your data stays on your device. Nothing is ever sent to any server.
Hindsight makes zero network requests. It works entirely offline.
There is no analytics, no telemetry, no tracking of any kind.
Uninstall the extension to delete all stored data instantly.

What Data Is Collected

When you visit a web page and stay on it for at least 10 seconds, Hindsight extracts and stores the following information locally in your browser:

Page URL	Identify and link to the page
Page title	Display in search results
Page text content (first 2,500 characters)	Full-text search index
Meta description	Display in search results
Domain name	Display and filtering
Visit timestamp	Display relative dates (“2 days ago”)
Time spent on page	Filter out pages visited briefly (< 10 seconds)
Visit count	Track how often you revisit a page

What Is NOT Collected

Passwords, form inputs, or login credentials
Images, videos, or media content
Cookie or session data
Browser history beyond what Hindsight itself indexes
Any personally identifiable information
