Parking & Starting Point
- Cristauta (Praplan) parking: €8/day (cash only)
- Free in October - perfect for off-season hiking
- Small mountain car park — fills up extremely quickly in peak season
- Trail starts directly from the car park.
Route
- Start on the “Pic” trail from the car park.
- Take a left turn up to Cross Sëurasas, then continue back up to Pic.
- Some sections are very muddy and have exposed edges, requiring extra caution.
- On the way back, we took a different route for safety, looping behind Pic mountain and coming out onto the Seceda ridges from the left-hand side — the view of the Seceda valley here was incredible.
- From there, we looped around to Col Raiser Rifugio and then returned the same way we did for the Seceda hike, completing the loop back to the car park.
- Trail is well-marked, with forests, alpine meadows, and panoramic mountain views throughout.
Highlights & Tips
- Seceda valley views: Stunning from the left-hand ridge loop — one of the best perspectives on the Dolomites.
- Trail conditions: Very muddy in October — good waterproof hiking boots are essential.
- Exposed edges: Some parts require caution; consider the alternative return route if you’re nervous with heights.
- Rifugio stops: The main rifugio at Col Raiser is a good spot for a drink or snack.
- Perfect for photography, peaceful walks, and enjoying the Dolomites without crowds.
