Problem

Lido’s success has led to mounting pressure to deploy Lido’s derivatives to new DeFi ecosystem outside of Ethereum: BNB, Cosmos, etc.

Projects like Canto and Injective have already taken upon themselves to bridge Lido’s tokens to their respective chains through Wormhole and a fork of Gravity Bridge without the permission of the DAO.

While this is natural, given the permissionless nature of the tokens and Lido’s architecture, it leads the DAO to loosing control over its assets, creates user friction and technical debt:
