- MedBible and Medirevi site have a lot of the same stuff, but the collated notes are really good for having an in depth understanding of all system topics
- The medbible disease factfiles, and drug tables are really good aswell (mode of action, indications etc).
- ZeroToFinals is amazing, has notes on most diseases and short podcasts for most diseases too.
- Uni notes are very good, but may have a few lectures here or there missing as curriculum changed. Theres an updated version linked too.
- Expose yourself to as many varieties and forms of information as you can, and link the knowledge you learn to the learning outcomes of lectures.
FoM1
- all weeks are important, but pharmacology, microbiology, physiology and immunology most important for systems.
- understand general concepts and learning outcomes, but ONLY memorise summaries
- highly highly recommend the DUMES summary PowerPoints and simplified notes on medirevi
Cardio
- first system block so you might find it hard to adjust
- would aim to start passtest/passmed/quesmed questions at least as soon as you start the block
- making summaries for ecg interpretations (for arrhythmia ninja nerd vid is amazing) and different treatments can help a lot (or just ask me to send some that are already done).
- physiology and pharmacology (cardio has most drugs use medbible drug tables and the one made in goldmine) are key in this block, dont rush their understanding
- As with all systems, classify diseases into their type of what they effect (e.g. arrhythmias, structural problem, haemostatic etc)
Resp
- fairly okay block, make sure you have good understanding of physiology (breathing mechanics), immunology and microbiology of resp diseases
