About Neon

Many large companies make billions each year by monetizing Americans’ personal data. At Neon, we’re finally cutting consumers in on the deal. Neon allows our users to make hundreds (or even thousands) of dollars per year by securely selling their anonymized data.

We just raised a pre-seed led by Upfront Ventures and are hiring our second engineer to work in a hybrid work environment in NYC.

About the role

You will be instrumental in building and shaping our mobile platform from the ground up. Your mission will be to lead the team that develops features that empower users to monetize their data. You’ll be hands-on and fundamental in defining the future of the company and product.

You’ll be working on…

• Building the app. You’ll lead development of intuitive iOS and Android apps, creating a frictionless cross-platform experience.
• Shipping fast. Take the app from beta test to production-ready software robust enough to scale to millions of users.
• Observability and monitoring. Experience that also includes setting up the right instrumentation, monitoring, and analytics pipelines to understand real-world behavior and iterate effectively.

You have…

• Authorization to work in the US.
• Comfort working across all stacks.
• Proficiency in React Native; some comfort with next.js is a plus.
• 4+ years of mobile dev experience, shipping 0 to 1 products across Android and iOS.
• A commitment to building fast, stable software that delights users. You take full ownership of what you build, from implementation to real-world impact. The product is now in beta testing and we need your help taking it to the next level.
• Comfort with ambiguity. You’re a highly proactive problem-solver.
• An ownership mentality demonstrated by your work quality and personal/open source projects.
• The desire and ability to lead a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Some comfort integrating AI workflows into code.
