Accountable for providing AI agents with great context and for providing developers with clear, concise, and thorough reference materials.

Why does this role exist

This role doesn’t exist today. The responsibilities are covered by Product Manager + docs-infra Software Engineer + DX Engineer.

However:

• Our documentation is crucial to the success of our products.
• Engineers need a reviewer who has less context about the new feature, and who has an overall view of the docs experience.
• We write the docs en-US, but we have engineers not immersed in this locale.

Responsibilities

• Empower Product Engineers to create great docs in isolation.
• Ensure consistency in tone, style (DevEx - Writing style guide).
• Proofread content.
• Collaborate with Product Engineers to manage large documentation projects.
• Collaborate with Docs-infra to shape the product direction based on the needs of the developers.
• Flag to Product Managers and Product Engineers the gaps in the docs, influencing them to prioritize work on those.
• Hire and train Technical Writers.
• Manage teams of open-source contributors and contractors for large-scale projects.
• Copywriting for marketing pages
• Push docs feedback to product teams
