Since mainnet launch in November 2021, Cronos has surpassed 4 B$ in total Defi asset value and safely processed more than 70 million of network transactions. It is home to more than 500 Web3 projects and close to a million crypto users, growing at a fast pace.

Cronos is an open-source project backed by Crypto.com and more than 500 Dapp developers and partners. It is powered by the Cronos ($CRO) cryptocurrency. Together, these partner communities number more than 80 million crypto users.

Role summary

As Head of the Cronos Accelerator Program, you develop and run one of the most visible startup acceleration programs of the Web3 ecosystem.

The Cronos Accelerator Program is going to be launched in Q2 2022 and will accept 10 to 15 startups every quarter, for a 10 week program that aims to accelerate the growth and development of top-tier dApps on Cronos. Target verticals are: advanced DeFi, metaverse & gameFi, blockchain infrastructure.

For app builders, the program offers the following benefits: 1-1 mentorship with Cronos experts and accelerator partners (to be announced), masterclass sessions and fireside chats with founders, operational advisory, virtual and in-person networking events, demo day and investor introductions.

Your responsibilities:

• Act as an entrepreneur and take overall accountability for the strategy and development of the Cronos Accelerator Program
• Hire a team of 5-10 people plus external vendors / contractors to run the accelerator flawlessly, with the support of shared functions within Particle B (eg. marketing, developer relations, partnerships)
• Establish partnerships with investors, accomplished founders, web3 infrastructure providers and security firms so that they participate as mentors, jury members, providers of discounted resources for startups, etc.
• Establish partnerships with hackathon organizers and other developer communities in order to generate ~100 applications per quarter. Work with stakeholders to evaluate applications and finalize cohorts before program start.
• Formulate and continue iterate accelerator content, working with the team and partners to create value adding master classes/sessions.
• Strive every day to increase the quality of the founder experience (measured by feedback) and the outcomes of the program for founders and investors (measured by dollars raise).

Requirements

• Personal commitment to the cryptocurrency space. The candidate is expected to be familiar with the leading DeFi apps, and the key concepts of blockchain GameFi.
• 6-12 years of work experience in startup accelerator(s), open-source developer relations, or web3 marketing.
• Track record of executing complex projects flawlessly. Strong sense of ownership and accountability. Attention to details.
• Ability to build rapport and establish strong working relationships with coworkers and partners. The ideal candidate is outgoing, exudes energy and makes others want to work with them.
• Personal network in the Web3 key opinion leader / investor community and/or meaningful social presence (Twitter) with engaged followers are strong pluses.
• Interest in a potential career evolution towards startup investment or corporate development.

A majority of the Cronos team is currently based in Singapore/Hong Kong timezone. Senior candidates for this role will generally be expected to manage their work schedule in order to have 5 to 6 hours of overlap with this timezone daily.
