Happiness is an outcome, not a destination.

The American Declaration of Independence famously enshrined the ‘pursuit of Happiness’ as an unalienable Right. This was not a reference to fleeting pleasure, but rather defining the greater good of a country as one that promoted the importance of human flourishing through living a virtuous life.

How do we describe happiness? Perhaps the word is a container for the many positive emotions we experience. The exhilaration of unrestrained joy, or the profound sense of contentment that can suffuse our heart.
