He was so excited about his cosplay. People were impressed and I think he was proud of what we accomplished.
All of the body panels are 3D printed, sanded, painted, and finally assembled.
The base coat is flat green outdoor furniture paint with filler primer included. After a few thin coats and some light sanding, many of the print lines
We wanted to show that the Master Chief had seen some action so we intentionally damaged much of the armor by grinding away at the plastic. The details were painted silver and gold, then used a dirt and oil washes to highlight the damage and make the details have more dimension.
For the first time making a costume, it turned out pretty good.
