Vaccine Information Statement (VIS)

As per the CDC guidelines, there are specific responsibilities and rules to be followed by the HCPs and Vaccinators regarding VIS distribution. They include:

1. Vaccinators must provide appropriate VIS:

• To the recipients/parents/carers irrespective of the age of the recipient.
• Before vaccine administration.
• Each time a vaccine is given and not just during the first dose.
• Irrespective of whether the vaccine is given in a private healthcare setting or a public setting.

2. Vaccinators must document VIS in the recipient's medical record with the following information:

• Edition date of the VIS.
• The date on which VIS is provided to the recipient.
