The Gruusden Festival is an annual, week long celebration that is popular among the northern cities and tribes in Aldrium. It celebrates the god Malar and his conquest over King Ralfven Fohg'run.

The Gruusden Festival originated out of a legend describing the mortal Malar saving the northern people from starvation, persecution, and enslavement by the wicked or evil King Fohg'run. His resistance to King Fohg'run is called "The Hunt" because Malar united the northern people against King Fohg'run which resulted in war and the final “hunt” for the king and his execution. It is also called "The Hunt" because at the beginning of the resistance, Malar and his early followers used their hunting prowess to help feed hundreds (some claim thousands) of starving people. Some consider his ability to provide for so many people, while being hunted himself, a miracle and what prompted nearly universal support for his cause in the early stages of the war.

Gruusden is celebrated contemporarily through plays, songs, poetry, stories, and a large feast. It often involves community hunts. They may also burn a large effigy of King Fohg'run while chanting, “Eva vin talfin, dowfin Kane Fohg’run!” which translates closely to, "The terror ends, down with King Fohg'run."
