The Role
We’re building a best-in-class Growth team and are looking for an experienced Growth Engineer to build high-impact, interactive onboarding experiences using Phaser 3.
We’re an early-stage company where growth is the priority and speed of experimentation is our strongest lever. We’re looking for proactive builders who identify problems and opportunities and take action without waiting for direction.
This role will be focusing on building what we call onboardings - you can think of them as short, interactive experiences, similar to playable ads, adapted for messaging games on Jest.
What You’ll Do
- Ship high-quality interactive onboarding experiences at speed:
Build polished, performance-optimized onboardings based on detailed design specifications using Phaser 3. Optimize performance across various web environments.
- Design and build reusable solutions:
Maintain sustainable development velocity by introducing lightweight modules, workflow improvements and internal tooling that can meaningfully reduce production time.
- Continuously optimize how we build and collaborate cross-functionally:
Improve code structure, workflows, performance, and cross-team processes. Partner with Growth, Design, and Platform on ongoing onboarding experiments.
- Own instrumentation and data integrity:
Implement clean event tracking to ensure experiments are measurable and trustworthy.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript; experience with TypeScript is a plus.
- Hands-on experience building interactive experiences with Phaser 3 (or similar HTML5 game frameworks).
- Experience designing and implementing modular, reusable systems to increase team efficiency and speed.
- Strong ownership mindset: if you see problems or opportunities - you take action without waiting for direction.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, experiment-driven environments where priorities shift rapidly.
