After our team formed and we agreed on what character we wanted to make, the very first step was breaking down the components of the cosplay into 3 key components:
Though the goal was to create the full cosplay, due to time constraints we would have the helmet and its attachments be a stretch goal, and set the fursuit and pants as the minimum viable product.
The next and most important step was to map the character to a real human person scale to understand how large each part should be and how exactly it would proportionally fit on the person. By counting the pixels and using the photo of the real human wearer with known height for scale, we were able to roughly approximate how big each body part should be and where they would sit on the wearer.
