πŸ‘‹ Welcome to your Blended Learning playbook

This playbook is for anyone delivering programmes to learners or working with beneficiaries at Groundwork. Since March 2020, we have changed the way we interact and deliver this programme, using technology and digital tools to help us.

The world is changing. Our learning programmes are changing too. We must help our learners and beneficiaries explore, learn and develop the life skills they need to remain a meaningful part of society and the world of work.

How can we make learning engaging and relevant for life today and tomorrow while making the most of the digital tools around us? Through Blended Learning.

This playbook will help you develop both the confidence and competence to make the most of digital tools, develop your online facilitation skills and think about how you can approach face-to-face programmes to include online. Through blended learning!

This Blended Learning playbook provides a guide to help you create a blend of live and online learning, making the most of simple digital tools.

If you are a Digital Champion (more about these later!), this playbook gives you everything you need to deliver a selection of short sessions to your colleagues on tips, tricks and ways to work online with learners and beneficiaries.

This is a collation of the recent work carried in collaboration between Groundwork UK and CAST, Erica Neve, Erica Neve Limited and Ped Parasmand, The Skills Lab.

πŸ—ΊοΈ What is Blended Learning?

Blended Learning is a method of teaching and learning that integrates technology and digital media with traditional person-led activities.

This means:

You can bring your learning experiences to life by mixing up different types of learning interactions and choosing the best methods and digital tools to facilitate those experiences. From engaging the learners with the topic, activating their learning, reflecting on their experiences and evaluating their outcomes, blended learning can enhance any project.

In a post-covid world, blended learning is essential to enable programmes to continue and learners to progress.

<aside> πŸ‘ Top tip: You don't have to be a tech expert to create blended learning using digital tools. Your current skills translate to delivering online, and understanding your learners is still the most important aspect.
