What is Google Drive?
Google Drive is an online cloud storage service where you can upload, store, and share files with others. It is part of your Google account and integrates with Google’s productivity tools like Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides.
On most Android tablets, Google Drive often comes pre-installed, but if it’s not available, it can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. Once installed, you must sign in with your Google account to use it.
Uploading Files to Google Drive
- Tap the “+” (New) button.
- Select Upload, then choose files from your tablet’s storage (e.g., photos, documents).
- After uploading, the files will appear in My Drive.
Creating Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides
- Tap the “+” (New) button.
- Choose Google Docs, Google Sheets, or Google Slides to create a new file.
- You can also take pictures or scan a document, and these will automatically save to your Drive.
Sharing Files or Folders
- Tap the three-dot menu next to a file or folder.
- Select Share or Manage access.
- Add email addresses or set broader access permissions: Viewer, Commenter, or Editor.
- Optionally, copy a shareable link to send to others.
