Right before the jam starts, one of our coordinators, Forest, will be taking time to go over the basics of the Godot Game Engine! Godot is a free, lightweight, and open-source game engine, which provides tools to help you with everything from coding games to level design and animations!

If you have some programming experience, this should be enough to get you up and running to start the jam and give you the info you need to find more help. If you don't intend to develop, you may still find the tutorial useful and interesting, as it can help you understand the workflow of the project and how to adjust your work to better support speedy pipelines when using the engine.

Looking to get started early? Keep an eye out for our Godot Getting Started document where we overview the core parts of Godot that we'll cover more in depth during the tutorial.
