The factory makes product samples for labs and archives – this reduces the total count of pieces produced on the line, but are not technically counted as scrap. Scrap is a product with a defect. In this case scrap(quality) influences also their bonus system. When they add a scrap reason named “Lab example”, that reduces the overall produced product amount but does not have a negative effect on OEE and employee bonuses as is not counted as a defective product.
