Why I took on this project?

Global debt is one of those topics that sounds overwhelming until you stop chasing rankings and start looking for patterns.

This analysis wasn’t about deciding which countries are “good” or “bad.”

It was about understanding how global debt is distributed, how it has changed over time, and what kind of debt dominates globally.

Scope and Limitations

This dataset includes:

• Total debt by country
• Public vs private debt composition
• Historical debt trends

What it does not include:

• GDP or debt-to-GDP ratios
• Population normalization
• Interest servicing costs
• Fiscal or political context
