Club Overview

Girls Who Code aims to introduce women to the worlds of technology and computer science and increase representation in those fields. We teach members how to code and expose them to coding culture. We provide the opportunity to learn a variety of coding languages such as JavaScript, Python, and HTML, as well as participate in hackathons and create cool projects.

If you are interested in learning more about what coding is or how to code, want to go to hackathons with a cool group of friends, or just want to build fun projects with a supportive team, sign up below! ↓ No experience is required, but any level of experience is welcome.

Speakers

Every few meetings, we invite someone in the tech field to come and talk to us about their path and where they currently are. Past speakers include a cognitive science major at UC Berkeley, a Microsoft employee who talked about the basics of game design, and a Trustee from the CUHSD Board!

What're We Working On?

Last year, we focused more on building websites, and learned how to create games inside HTML files using JavaScript. This year, we have covered Python, JS, as well as how to work in GitHub, and are now working on Website Development.

Other Projects We Have Done:

The projects we do depend on what our members are interested in, and any idea is fair game!
