Reading books or listening to audiobooks is one of the best ways to learn about effective altruism. We are more than happy to lend you one of our top recommended books / audiobooks and organize for you to discuss the book with another student who's read it if you like.
Each weekly MeetUp has a short presentation by someone in Brown EA about something EA related they've been working on or thinking about. Afterwards, we have lots of breakout rooms so you can keep discussing the topic of the presentation, socialize, have 1-1s or play some games!
We have periodic social events for those in our community to hang out and do fun stuff together such as walking, cooking, eating, and playing games. While the campus is closed, our social events will continue through creative virtual formats so that our community can continue to build bonds together.
We are also known for our speaker series, which is open to all Brown students, featuring key figures in the wider effective altruism community. Join our listserv to find out when these events are happening.
