Every time you finish a conversation with your AI advisor, GrowLog automatically creates a session log — a structured record of what you observed, what you did, and what the AI recommended. Together these logs form your Garden Diary.

What’s in a Session Log

Each log entry captures:

Field What it contains
Date The date the session happened
Observation What you told the AI you saw or noticed
Action taken What you said you did (watered, pruned, treated, etc.)
AI advice The key recommendations the AI gave you
Weather summary Conditions at your garden’s location at the time

Viewing Your Diary

Open a crop and scroll down past the chat history to see recent session logs for that crop. The 10 most recent entries are shown.

Google Sheets Diary

If you’ve connected Google Sheets, every session log is also written automatically to a spreadsheet in your Google Drive. The sheet gives you a permanent, searchable, offline-accessible record of your entire gardening season.

Each row in the sheet includes the same fields as the in-app log, plus the date and crop name. See Google Sheets Integration for setup details.

Attribution in Shared Gardens

In a shared garden, each session log shows the display name of the member who logged it — so you can see at a glance who made which observation. The same attribution appears in the Google Sheet with a “Logged by” column.

Log Retention

Session logs are stored as long as your account and the crop exist. Deleting a crop also deletes all its logs. Logs in Google Sheets are not affected by deleting the crop in GrowLog — they remain in your spreadsheet.
