On Bilibili (the most popular video sharing website among young people in China, featuring user generated content and overlaid commentary on videos), movie is a popular niche. Under the category of movie review alone, there have been nearly 0.4 million videos from a great number of talented uploaders (content creators on Bilibili) getting more than 8 billion views in total. As this niche has a such a fierce competition, choosing which movie to review becomes the primary thing for uploaders who dedicate their channel to movie reviewing, especially small- or medium-size ones whose channel is in early-stage development and don't have many subscribers yet. How might we help movie reviewers determine which movie to review to boost their channel on BIlibili?
After small talks with several movie reviewers, we had a clearer picture of our target audience and their needs.
