Everyone has a favorite place. Mine (and I imagine it’s the same for many of you) is Foz do Arelho: the village where I was born, grew up, and where I want to continue living.
Here, I attended Kindergarten and Primary School, participated in the “Jovens em Movimento” holiday camp, practiced canoeing in the Óbidos Lagoon, and, in recent years, have volunteered at one of our institutions, the CSRFA. As a hobby, I devoted myself to building my maternal grandmother’s family tree, a project that allowed me to dive into the history of Foz do Arelho, better understand our community, and deepen my love for the land where I grew up.
No matter how much I travel (and those who know me know that I love traveling) Foz remains the best place to be. It’s our special corner, full of potential.
I believe that with a strategic vision, like the one outlined in our program, we can make Foz an even better place: more united, with a stronger identity, and more opportunities for everyone. I also believe that the people on this list have the right skills to make that vision a reality.
And me? How can I contribute? I hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Anthropology, and my dissertation focused on the local knowledge of the fishing community of the Óbidos Lagoon, a study aimed at showing that the day-to-day expertise of this minority, who dedicate their lives to and know this ecosystem better than anyone, should not be ignored when making decisions about interventions in the Lagoon. I also hold a postgraduate degree in Marketing Management.
I began my professional journey as a consultant for innovation companies in the private sector, and over the past five years, I have worked in the public sector, always in innovation-related roles. My professional practice is grounded in listening to people’s needs, defining strategies, and turning them into concrete solutions.
I am convinced that by combining this experience with my passion for our land, I can help build a Foz do Arelho that is more participatory, dynamic, and capable of showcasing its full value.
This journey only makes sense if it is undertaken together. We count on you!
