GRIS is a revolutionary fintech application designed to simplify complex financial workflows through an intuitive, user-centric interface. I led the design, user testing, and development of this project from end to end. I collaborated with one other developer (Issac) during the development phase.

Problem

Financial illiteracy poses a significant challenge in the United States, where many individuals struggle with basic financial concepts and decision-making. Studies show that a large portion of Americans lack fundamental understanding of budgeting, investing, and debt management. This knowledge gap leads to poor financial choices, excessive debt accumulation, and inadequate retirement planning.

Key indicators of this problem include:

• Only 57% of adults in the US are considered financially literate
• Many Americans live paycheck to paycheck, with minimal emergency savings
• A significant portion of the population struggles with credit card debt and poor credit management
• Young adults enter the workforce without basic financial education

This widespread financial illiteracy creates a pressing need for accessible, user-friendly financial tools that can both educate and empower users to make better financial decisions.

Survey Results

I surveyed 100 IOS users via online forum. the users experience with financial management was varied, with the majority of participants having little to no experience managing their own finances via IOS app.

• 72% expressed interest in mobile apps for finance management.
• 28% of users with experience in online finance management expressed dissatisfaction with the usability of the app they use.
