just because i look good doesn’t mean i feel good. growing up with CF has given me an obsession with weight. The only “positive” thing about CF was being skinny. At least that’s how society viewed it. ya’ll don’t know the amount of times i’ve been told “i wish i was skinny like you”, but honestly nobody wouls truly wish that because to get this skinny is to be sick. Doctors constantly want you to be eating and while that isn’t hard it is when image is a huge part of our society. I can’t lie, i’ve been obsessed with the way I look and I still am. It’s hard for me to admit, but there have been times where i have skipped taking my pancreatic enzymes so i wouldn’t gain weight. I’d take any pain my gastrointestinal area would give me for it. it’s shameful, but it’s important to share.
