“Thoughtful design lives in the details; the curve, the texture, the balance between strength and softness.”

Problem Statement:

Problem Identified: Furnis addresses a combination of usability issues and business problems commonly found in existing furniture e-commerce platforms.

Users struggle with:

  1. Difficulty trusting online purchases due to insufficient product clarity and reassurance.
  2. Poorly structured product pages that overwhelm users instead of guiding decisions.
  3. Lengthy yet unclear checkout processes that increase friction.
  4. Limited visibility into order status after payment.

From a business perspective, these issues result in high cart abandonment, low conversion rates, and weak post-purchase confidence, especially for first-time buyers. The absence of furniture-specific, trust-centered UX creates a gap that furnis aims to solve.

Impact: This problem matters because furniture purchases are high involvement decisions, they are expensive, long-term, and logistically complex.

Impact on users:

  1. Increase anxiety and hesitation before checkout
  2. Decision fatigue caused by unclear product information
  3. Reduced confidence in payment and delivery processes
  4. Frustration when order tracking is unavailable or unclear

Impact on the business:

  1. Higher bounce and cart abandonment rates
  2. Loss of potential repeat customers
  3. Reduced customer lifetime value
  4. Lower brand trust and credibility in a competitive market

If unresolved, these challenges prevent users from completing purchases and weaken the platform’s ability to scale sustainably.

Goal (SMART): The goal of Furnis is to design a streamlined, trust-driven furniture e-commerce experience that improves both usability and business outcomes.

  1. Specific: Simplify the furniture buying journey from discovery to order tracking
  2. Measurable: Reduce cart abandonment by at least 25% and increase checkout completion rate
  3. Achievable: Achieved through clear product presentation, frictionless checkout, and transparent order tracking.
  4. Relevant: Directly addresses user trust issues and business conversion challenges.
  5. Time-bound: Within 3 months of product launch implementation.
