What we're looking for
As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will be a prolific individual contributor to the product, dynamic data services, and tooling that we are leveraging to shape the future of insurance. You will help bridge the gap between Product, Insurance, and Data while developing new systems and features in a ready to disrupt industry. In addition, you will help to set the culture, rituals, and processes that underpin a high functioning engineering team and the organization more broadly.
Responsibilities
- Develop new features and components in both the Frontend and Backend of our systems.
- Design and architect new systems, focusing on performance, extensibility, readability, and scalability.
- Make intelligent design decisions based on well researched tradeoffs.
- Design tools that leverage multiple data sets to automate and improve risk evaluation.
- Solve problems end-to-end by building a platform that weaves together different tools and services.
- Collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and designers to develop major new products.
- Help to design the rituals and processes that underpin a high functioning engineering team.
- Participate in testing, documenting and debugging code you build.
Qualifications
- Passion for Python and a love for being a generalist engineer. You are equally happy working on frontend or backend technology in the course of building something that delights.
- Excitement for building and experimenting with new technologies and systems.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Python with coding experience building scalable and rich applications across a variety of stacks
- Multiple years of experience in software development with coding experience in server-side programming languages (Python, Node, Ruby)
- At least 1 years dev experience developing with React or Vue JS
- Broad understanding of web development technologies and experience building single page web applications
- Understanding of database technologies like PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, and MongoDB.
