FAQ - Customers

What is CauliBox?

CauliBox is a zero-waste food delivery and takeout service, connecting local businesses and customers to ditch disposables, while bringing positive environmental, social, and economic impacts to our local community.

How does it work?

Our customers can order their food in a reusable CauliBox from our partnering restaurants, and zero-waste stores on our platform. After finishing your meal, you can either deposit the CauliBox at drop-off points, or schedule a CauliBox Collection, where we'll pick up your used containers from your doorstep. We'll wash, and deliver the clean boxes back to our partners to let the cycle begin again! More than ever, sanitation and hygiene is a top priority for us. All CauliBoxes are professionally washed and sanitised by the Cauli Team using a high heat commercial washing machine.

Where is this available?

We’re currently trialling and delivering in the London Bridge area, Brixton, Vauxhall, and Battersea. We chose these areas due to its impressive culinary variety, but we hope to bring it to the rest of London and the UK!

What types of deliveries do you provide?

We provide on-demand deliveries, scheduled deliveries, and take-away. If you opt for a scheduled delivery, you can schedule your meal online 24-hours in advance and it will be delivered at your designated time.

Is there a cost to participate in CauliBox?

You can become a member through our subscription service of only £5. Your subscription fee allows you to order from CauliBox's partnering restaurants, and zero-waste stores whenever you want. You'll have a limit of 5 CauliBoxes on your account and you can keep the boxes for six weeks.

How can I return the CauliBox?

After finishing your meal, you can either deposit your CauliBox at drop-off points, or schedule a CauliBox Collection, where we'll come pick it up at your doorstep. You can schedule a collection time via your preferred time window, in accordance with Cauli's Calendar. We'll wash, sterilise, and deliver the clean boxes back to our partners to let the cycle begin again!

By when do I need to return my CauliBox?

We hope that customers will adhere to our circular flow and return our boxes within appropriate timeframes. Please take note that a £5 fee will be charged to your account per container that has not been returned within 6 weeks. Card details are registered and only processed in case CauliBoxes are not returned in time.

Do I have to wash the box?

Out of courtesy for the restaurants and grocery stores that receive your CauliBoxes, please give them a rinse. While you do not need to fully wash the container before returning it, we appreciate your help ensuring the container is as free of food and liquid as possible. Sanitation and hygiene is a top priority for us. All CauliBoxes are professionally washed and sanitised by the Cauli Team using a high heat commercial washing machine.

What should I do if the CauliBox gets damaged?

Kindly report the damaged or the lost box so that we can remove the box from circulation or take into account the loss of our dear CauliBox. No fees are incurred for the first time but a fee of £5 will be applied for any additional damages or losses.
