One night, in the crack behind the kitchen cupboard, a group of tiny people were whispering together.
“It’s about time we set out…” “The map says that beyond the western sink, there’s a ‘Sea of Cacao!’”
Captain Sucre clenched his fist.
“Our ship for this voyage will be… a French baguette!”
That night, they snuck onto the giant humans’ dining table, hollowed out the bottom of a baguette, and crafted a splendid ark!
They packed rations stolen from the flour bag, a crate of sugar cubes, a tea bag for a sleeping bag, and—of course—the legendary spice: cinnamon!
The bread boat went plop! into a puddle. (Though in truth, it was just some lukewarm water in the sink before the dishes got washed.)
Captain Sucre: “Our goal is the legendary Chocolate Continent!” The boat sailed onward, catching the wind! They battled bubbles, oil, and mysterious bits of gunk!
At last, what awaited them at the end of their journey was…
A bowl full of gooey, melted chocolate— (not quite solidified yet!)
“Whoa… it’s the Chocolate Sea!!” “Wait… isn’t this a little too soft?”
The boat sank into the goo, the sugar cube crate turned soggy, and Captain Sucre was soon covered in chocolate.
“Ugh… So this was just our own kitchen after all…”
But even then, the little people grinned, nibbling on spoons in the chocolate.
“Well, this was a grand adventure too!”
