Compensation: $75,000/year + equity as Tweetscape formalizes its legal structure

Location: Strongly prefer San Francisco (we have an office!), but open to remote. Roote will have an in-person office in San Francisco.

I. What is Roote?

Roote's 2100 vision is a mature, wise hivemind that sustainably co-evolves with nature and machines.

Roote's mission is to build infrastructure to transform the Information Age into the Wisdom Age.

We do this in two ways:

1. We run the Roote Fellowship, an energizing space for curious people to co-explore and learn about systems change. Since starting in August 2020, we've run a set of cohorts with dozens of divergent, amazing fellows.
2. We also run Roote Projects, where we co-build root-level infrastructure that supports a wiser world. Tweetscape is helping turn Twitter into a thriving digital public square by building on the Hive.one API.

II. Role Overview

This is a unique opportunity to lead to development of the Tweetscape app, which will help Twitter users surface content from their Twitter communities.

Tweetscape automatically creates a newsletter for your favorite niche.

Tweetscape’s mission is to co-create more intentional digital infrastructure for a healthier attention economy. Tweetscape is also the first Roote Project, a growing network of interdiscplinary bets.

Thus far, Roote has:

• Convened various players in the information ecosystem space (Stanford Internet Observatory, Bluesky, etc.)
• Coded a small prototype, Tweetscape, that prioritizes Twitter lists
• Begun writing a book, What Information Wants, on how understanding information's desires helps us shape the internet for good.
