Many large companies make billions each year by monetizing Americans’ personal data. At Neon, we’re finally cutting consumers in on the deal. Neon allows our users to make hundreds (or even thousands) of dollars per year by selling their anonymized data.
We just raised a pre-seed from Upfront Ventures and are hiring our first business ops lead to work alongside our founder in NYC.
About the role
This is not your typical ops role. As Neon’s first business hire, you’ll have a monumental impact on the company’s strategy and direction. You’ll partner with me (Alex) on everything from user research to sales strategy/pricing to hiring to building out our day-to-day operations. You’ll keep everything moving and create processes that drive the company forward, while being the “glue person” who makes sure nothing slipping through the cracks.

You’ll be working on…
- Finance: Manage company forecasting, budgeting, expenses, and payroll.
- People: Oversee hiring & onboarding to help us build the best team.
- Partners: Build/maintain relationships with external vendors/partners
- Project Management: Manage projects and timelines, track progress to milestones, and keep everyone informed and accountable.
- Special Projects: Partner with the founder on critical strategic projects.
- Systems: Set up new systems, tools, and processes that scale.
You have…
- 2–5+ years in consulting or startup ops.
- A sharp mind & equally sharp eye for detail. You’ll be doing a lot of multitasking and context-switching as our first bizops hire.
- Comfort with–and a preference for– the ambiguity of early-stage companies.
- Excellent verbal communication skills. You listen well and communicate clearly to diagnose and solve user pain points.
- Ownership mentality. You’re a keen problem solver and are comfortable driving initiatives independently.
