Location: San Francisco, CA (hybrid) — quarterly travel to Belgium

Job Description

This is a high-trust, high-impact role working directly with Belfort’s founders as both a strategic partner and the owner of our finance and compliance backbone. You will be our operational glue between Belgium & San Francisco, progressively taking full ownership of critical work streams while driving one-off strategic projects.

Responsibilities

Finance, Business Plan & Compliance Leadership

• Own monthly/quarterly close, cash flow tracking, AP/AR, payroll coordination, and expense management across U.S. and Belgian entities
• Manage tax, audit, and statutory filings; coordinate with external accountants and counsel in both jurisdictions
• Maintain and evolve financial models, budgets, and the company’s business plan, including investor reporting.

Founder Leverage & Company Ops

• Support running our operating cadence: leadership/team meeting agendas, OKRs/KPIs, board/investor materials, and follow-ups
• Maintain company data rooms, security/compliance checklists, and policy updates (HR, travel, procurement, IT)
• Help organize quarterly off-sites and other events

Strategic & Special Projects

• Support/lead (select) high-priority initiatives — from go-to-market process to grant applications, partnership negotiations, brand/marketing & more
• Conduct market, competitive, and technical research to inform strategic decisions
• Coordinate recruitment/business development / PR processes
