This brief paper offers a personal account of how LEGO® Serious Play® (LSP) was conceived, developed, and grounded in both practice and theory. Co-authored in spirit with Bart Victor, it clarifies the origins of the method and the core ideas that continue to give it strength today.

It is intended as a foundational reference for trainers, facilitators, and communities of practice—especially in the context of facilitator certification and introductory programs.

While methods evolve, history matters. This reflection is offered to support deeper understanding, more confident facilitation, and respectful dialogue across the global LSP ecosystem.
