Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) such as the Ford Transit are an important tool in the daily work of handy(wo)men. However, each handyman has different needs, depending on the type of job they do. For handymen, a vehicle has multiple functions: besides a means to get from A to B, it’s also a storage room, a break room, a workshop and a symbol of identity, to name but a few.
Our brief is as follows: to design an interactive alteration to the Ford Transit, or a standalone interactive product, that augments the van such that it becomes an indispensable handyman’s companion.

Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) such as Ford Transit are an important tool in the daily work of couriers delivering parcels and other goods. The main purpose of the vehicle is to get to multiple locations in a single trip, and facilitate the easy finding and handing out the parcels destined for each of the locations. Delivery drivers encounter all kinds of problems like how to sort parcels in their vehicle, where to park in busy and dense city areas, getting in and out of the vehicle and all actions to make sure parcels in the vehicle and the vehicle itself are safe at each delivery. How could the vehicle help with these problems and really act as a partner?
