Expect to have a fun, friendly interaction with someone who is passionate about climate and is happy that people like you want to join in. All the people we've met in climate have been unfailingly fantastic. Nobody bites, at least not over video!
Once you sign up, you will receive an email with a Calendar event link. It will not automatically get added to your calendar - click the link to add manually! You will receive another reminder email 48 hours before the time.
Office hours are conducted virtually over Google Meet.
Several people might (and ideally would) sign up for the same time slot - this is an opportunity to connect with them too!
Ideally, yes: read a bit about the expert's area of expertise and think of a few questions in advance - however, all our experts will be happy to just have an open-ended chat with you.
Research shows that one of the most effective things you can do to solidify your learning is to write up what you learned or share it with others.
After you meet, consider sharing on #share-your-path (or in the relevant channel) ****1 thing you learned and 1 thing you commit to learning on your own time!
Please signal your cancellation as soon as you realize that you can't attend, to avoid the chance of the expert showing up to an empty room. Use the cancellation link in the Calendar event - do not simply cancel the Calendar event.
If the expert has to cancel the event, you will receive a cancellation email.
If nobody shows up after 10 minutes, feel free to leave, and please let us know so we can come up with ways to avoid such let-downs in the future.
The auto-created calendar events will use Google Meet.
