Why, Who, When, Where, What & How

There are a few ways one can solve a product design problem. My approach is by asking five questions - the “Five Ws”, a method that is used by journalists, researchers, investigators and problem solvers, and a technique I’ve employed for years.

The “Five Ws”, is a simple way to reason and explain our decisions.

Why are we creating this?

When will it be used?

Where will it be used?

What are we creating?

And lastly

How could we measure success?

What is it we're trying to achieve with the endeavor we're creating?
