Project: FaceMesh Visual Interaction

Creator’s Note

This project was made to explore how machine learning can sense emotion without words.

It’s simple, but the interaction feels alive — a reminder that expression and art are not separate; they meet in the moment of response.

This project uses ml5.js FaceMesh and p5.js .

It was designed as a playful and minimal experiment in turning everyday gestures—like smiling, opening your mouth, or tilting your head—into visual motion and color.

The goal is to make people aware of how expressive the human face is, and how technology can turn those subtle movements into art.

How to Play

1. Allow camera access when the page loads.
2. Sit where your face is clearly visible to the webcam.
3. Try these interactions:
   • Open your mouth → a glowing circle grows like a breathing rhythm.
   • Smile → background color changes smoothly.
   • Raise your eyebrows / open eyes wider → glowing intensity increases.
   • Tilt your head → the instruction text gently rotates.
4. Watch the white lines across your face respond in real time — this mesh shows the landmarks the model detects.
