Introduction –

It began with a whisper.

I wanted to see what would happen if I treated speech not as an order, but as a gesture — a small act of creation.

So I built Whisper Garden,

When someone says “go”, flowers grow.

When they say “left”, the wind starts to dance through the stems.

When they say “right”, rain falls quietly across the canvas.

And when they whisper “stop”, the whole garden takes a breath, returning to stillness.

It’s a living landscape, grown not from soil but from sound.

Setup

I used ml5.js for sound classification and p5.js for visuals.

The ml5 Sound Classifier recognizes short words from the microphone.
