First-Time Homebuyer Education Training
The Financial Empowerment Program builds individual and household capacity to improve credit, reduce debt, and increase savings by providing group workshops, One-On-One Counseling, and education about sound money management practices, maintaining a household budget, and avoiding predatory lenders. Financial Empowerment hosts the First-Time Homebuyer Education Training, which provides an overview of the home-buying process, as well as foreclosure prevention basics. Upon completion, the Washington Housing Commission will provide a 2-year certificate that allows participants to access their home purchase programs. Lastly, the program helps participants build credit through Lending Circles, also known as Tandas.
