Overview

It's been an exciting 9 weeks of class together! Thus far, we've learned all about different mechanics, tools, design theory, and more. We've also covered a few more advanced skills in-depth: variants, auto layout, prototyping + smart animate, and illustration.

Like we've said before, the best way to to learn is through projects that put a variety of skills into practice. You saw this with the midterm; the final will be similar, but with one key difference:

‼ For the Figma Decal final, you will be proposing and creating your own project from scratch.

As both staff of this course and as people who personally use Figma, we firmly believe that you can leverage Figma for a huge variety of applications, expanding beyond the scope of UI/UX and design systems. For this final, we want you to pitch your own idea — something you're passionate about creating — and give you the space and resources to build something you're genuinely interested in making!

Our goal for this final, like with the midterm, is for you to discover something you're interested in making and see that vision all the way through into a completed product. Below are the requirements for what your project proposal should include and how to make sure the scope is within reason.

Project Requirements

<aside> 💡 We want this project to be open-ended and to be something you're personally interested in making. This also means we are not providing prompts the way we did on the midterm. Instead, we are outlining criteria to demonstrate understanding of the tools and theory we've learned.
